Parents of Belarusian-speaking student, Aliaksei Lapitsky and Sviatlana Lapitskaya made its strongest protest directly to the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus, Mr. Aliaksandr Radzkou, in response to just another formal reply from Ministry of Education.

10 years ago politician Viktar Hanchar and businessman Anatol Krasouski disappeared under mysterious circumstances in Minsk. Earlier, on 7 May 1999, the former Minister of Internal Affairs, Yury Zakharanka, disappeared. On 7 July 2000 the cameraman of ORT TV channel, Zmitser Zavadski, disappeared.

Human rights defender from Vitebsk appealed to the Supreme Court after he was found guilty in the incitement of ethnic and religious hatred on 16 July in the Regional Court.

The Judge of Vitebsk regional court, Ms. Halina Urbanovich, awarded a 31 million BYR fine (about 12 thousand dollars) to Leanid Svetsik.
