The KGB Department for Brest region doesn’t demand to acknowledge a range of publications in the “ARCHE. Pachatak” (##7-8, 2008) magazine to be “extremist” materials anymore.
Mikhail Sharkouski, Spokesman for KGB Department for Brest region has confirmed this information in his interview to the BAJ Press Service. According to him, the KGB officers withdrew their claim last week.

It should be reminded that the following court hearings were appointed for June 25, 2009. However, the judge of Maskouski City District Court of Brest Tatsiana Laskovich noted in a phone talk with the respondent’s attorney Pavel Sapielka she hoped “the case would be terminated, as the court didn’t have any formal reason to reject the claimant’s withdrawal of action.” The judge added that the KGB Department asked to hold the court hearings in their absence.

It should be reminded that the claim was filed by the KGB Department for Brest region. A judge of Maskouski City District of Brest Tatsiana Miranok acknowledged 10 copies of “ARCHE. The Beginning” magazine No.7-8 to be “extremist materials liable to destruction”. Thus, she satisfied the claim, submitted by the KGB Department for Brest region. Still, having considered the “ARCHE” editorial’s appeal, the Judicial Assembly of Brest Regional Court returned the “extremist” case on “ARCHE” for reconsideration to Maskouski City District Court of Brest on May 7, 2009.
