Biaroza human rights defenders and social activists, the applicants of picketing on March 25, not for a long time were happy about the fact that the local executive committee, in particular its chairman Mikhail Kreidzich, gave a permission for the rally in a deserted place. Written aggreement came on March 21.

Suddenly, in the morning of March 22, about 10 a.m. the second decree which revoked the first has been delivered by a courier. The reason for the refusal was “inciting ethnic hatred”, says one of the applicants of the picket Siarzhuk Rusetski:

- Apparently, they have overlooked something somewhere. While the ban was dated March 20, the letter was sent and received on March 22. They have tried to answer 5 days before the scheduled event. Yesterday was March 21 and there were no questions about prohibition. At the trial we’ll have to find out exactly what they mean by “inciting ethnic hatred”?

The application for picket was applied on March 7. The purpose of the picket was celebrating the 96th anniversary of the independence of the Belarusian People’s Republic, the expression of protest against the introduction of the Russian Federation’s troops on the territory of an independent Ukraine and basing of Russian military bases on the territory of the Republic of Belarus, as well as the demand to release political prisoners.
