Maksim Viniarski was detained for poster “Occupants, get out from the Ukraine” and sentenced to 15 days. The public activist organized a picketing near the Russian Embassy in Minsk.

On March 5, the activist picketed outside the Russian Embassy in Belarus. Earlier activist explained his position regarding the events in the Ukraine:

– It’s surprising for me that in our country there are so few people who are concerned that in a neighboring country war begins. Especially in the situation that we also have dictatorship here, dictatorial laws are even worse than those in the Ukraine, because of which, relatively speaking, and Yanukovich lost his post. Any protest is banned in our country, so I do not feel that I should obey these authorities.

Literally a minute after the picketing start, about 16:00 a militia officer approached Maksim Viniarski, called riot militia, who detained the activist at 16:40 and took him to the central militia station in Minsk. The court accused the activist of organizing an unsanctioned mass gathering and sentenced him to administrative arrest.

The Judge was Victoria Shabunia. Protocol was drawn up on the article “Organization or participation in an unauthorized mass event”.

Maksim Viniarski:

– The so-called Union State actually makes all Belarusians associates in attack on the Ukraine. I believe that it is time to call it like it is. What is happening in the Ukraine is actually occupation. Foreign troops are there now. There are attempts to seize military units. There’s an actual attempt to dictate the country as it should live like. There’s an attempt to grab a piece of it – a fairly large piece of territory. Now Ukrainians defend their independence.
