On 27 January the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus was to consider the new bill on travel regulations for Belarusian citizens.

The new bill is to introduce democratic procedures of crossing the border, which would comply with the universally recognized standards of the international law.

A considerable part of the bill deals with the procedures of crossing the border for under aged citizens, providing that they can only leave the country accompanied by one of their guardians without consent from the other custodian. In case one of the representatives opposes the leave, he or she has a right to appeal the decision in court.

The new bill will also unify the procedure of temporary travel ban, providing for exceptions in case urgent medical treatment or appearance in court abroad is needed.
