2008 14/11

Герб ЖодзінаOn 14 November 2008 the special rapporteur of the UN Human Rights Committee decided to register Kamarouski’s complain. The complaint must also receive an official number. All this will be made soon.

Bear in mind that Kamarouski’s complaint was prepared and passed to the UN HMR with the assistance of Zhodzina human rights activists after Alexander Kamarouski and three more citizens were arrested for seven days for laying down flowers to the memorial obelisk ‘Heroes live forever’ on 23 March 2008 in Zhodzina.

This peaceful commemorative action was performed on the eve of 25 March 2008 – 90th anniversary of proclamation of the Belarusian People’s Republic, which is traditionally celebrated by the national and world community as the day of restoration of the state independence of Belarus or the Belarusian ‘Freedom Day’.
