The General Assembly of the United Nations released the report of the Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus.

The report was presented by the UN Special Rapporteur on the situation of human rights in Belarus, Miklos Haraszti, to the General Assembly at its 68th session in accordance with Resolution 20/13 of the Human Rights Council.

In his report, the Special Rapporteur focuses on the issue of human rights in the context of the electoral process in Belarus. He examines specific types of human rights violations that are of systemic character, resulting in Belarus being the only country in Europe where over the last decade not a single opposition politician has been elected to the Parliament.

The Special Rapporteur provides his recommendations for improving the situation of human rights in Belarus in accordance with its international obligations.
