Regarding the human rights situation in Belarus …

Yauhen Galashchapau, an expert of International Human Rights Law, participated in monitoring of the human rights situation in Belarus on the OSCE mission (2011)

This international mission prepared collector “Monitoring of trials in the Republic of Belarus (March – June 2011)”, relating to the specific litigation and judicial practices against peaceful protesters after the events in the Square on December 19, 2010 in Minsk.

This official report was sent to all relevant state institutions of government, courts, prosecutors and libraries in the country.

The document provides a brief overview of trials with expert conclusions on each of them and summarized general recommendations of the OSCE on the needed reforms of the system of self-government judicial system and system of appointment of judges … to make specific changes to existing legislation and judicial practice for the unconditional implementation of international standards of law, human rights and freedoms of citizens in the country.
