The UN Human Rights Committee has determined the final deadline to the Republic of Belarus – 15 November 2009 – to prepare a response to the claim of the family of the missing Anatol Krasouski.

The claim was filed to the UN Human Rights Committee on 16 November 2008. A response time was originally scheduled for 16 April 2009. However, the Belarusian mission to the United Nations has demanded to provide is a copy of the claim and supporting documents in Russian (original is written in English), and the term has been canceled.

The claim of Krasouski family consists of one hundred points and has a complement in 26 documents of more than a thousand pages.

It is worth to recall that the businessman Anatol Krasouski disappeared on 16 September 1999 together with a politician Viktar Hanchar. Irina and Valery Krasouski demand from the Republic of Belarus immediately to interrogate the suspects in the disappearance of Anatol Krasouski, who were named in a special memorandum of the member of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe, Mr Christos Pourgourides, as well as to hold an open investigation of the disappearance of Anatol Krasouski, to specify the location of his burial, to compensate moral and material losses for the victims of enforced disappearance of Anatol Krasouski.
