On December 10th, in celebration of the day of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, democracy and human rights activists from Lelchytski region held an action called “Legal information for children”.

Its main goal is to enhance the legal competence of minors and youth, to take remedial measures to avoid publicly dangerous acts committed by juveniles, to ensure the realization of the constitutional rights of young citizens to obtain information on the legislation of the Republic of Belarus and the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

In order to create a legal information sector in Central Library in Lelchytski region and in School library of Lelchytsy secondary school # 1 democracy and human rights activists recently donated brochures of “Know Your Rights” series (including such brochures as “Children’s right”, “The rights of Minors”, “The right to work”, “The right to a healthy environment”, “The right to freedom of conscience”, “The right to a fair trial”).

Let this action be a small step to protect the rights of children and youth everywhere and always. And let the Universal Declaration of Human Rights be the document implementing which we will make the lives of our children free, full of dignity and happiness.
